The family of Ted Magis is saddened to announce his sudden passing on Monday, April 19, 2021. Ted was born in Mellville to Bernice and Gregory Magis. He was the youngest of nine in a blended family. He was raised in Kamsack, and after graduating grade 12 he furthered his education and became a teacher. After six years of teaching he found his calling and worked for Sasktel in Melfort for 26 years until his retirement. Even after retirement, he remained involved and he would mention his “Sasktel girls” and would take chocolates to them. He was very involved with the Sasktel Pioneers of which he was president until his health declined.
He loved supporting the Melfort Mustangs and sold 50/50 tickets with his fellow Pioneers. He was very involved in the community and would help anyone that needed a hand. People probably remember him walking with his peppy steps everywhere he went. He liked camping and putzing around in his garage and yard. He loved having people come over and visit so he would get snacks as he said this was the only time he got to eat. He was a caring, loving, gentle, and quiet man with one liners that would make you laugh.
Ted’s health declined in the last two years and he moved into Parkland. But he kept his spirits high hoping he would get his health back. He is survived by his loving wife, Agi, of 44 years, his children Trina (Brent), Trent (Stacey), Tianna (Dan), and Keenan, his brother Ed (Luba) Magis, his sister Jane (Robert) Rose; his sister-in-law Barb (Jamie) Dick, and his nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Bernice and Gregory, siblings, and mother-in-law Gizella, father-in- law Ferenc and brother-in-law Akos Elek. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
