Obituary for Tanis Gail Marchuk

Tanis Gail Marchuk was born January 14, 1959 in Melfort, SK to Bill and Eileen (Sandberg) Marchuk.

She started life in Beatty, SK until relocating to Melfort when she was in Grade 2. Tanis completed her education in Melfort, graduating from MUCC. She was active in Girl Guides and had her first adventure to Mexico through her involvement with that organization.

Summers were filled with outdoor family activities including camping trips and time with family at the cabin at Candle Lake.

Tanis was known for her time as a dietary aide at Nirvana, Melfort Union Hospital and finally Parkland. She retired from there on October 1, 2022.

Tanis was blessed with a daughter and best friend in Cortney. They were inseparable in their love of travel, dogs, Melfort and the Mustangs. Tanis had a great travelling partner in Cortney, venturing to many places such as Las Vegas, Dominican Republic, Cuba and Mexico. And summers were made complete with trips to Craven.

Tanis faced challenges with a brave face and the attitude of a fighter. She fought with all of her will and strength through her trying journey with cancer and was proud to be able to say she beat it when she rang the bell in 2021.

Tanis is survived by her daughter Cortney, son-in-law Denys Hilkewich, her brother Tim (Lori) Marchuk and her nephews Stephen and Kris Marchuk.

She was predeceased by her brother Trent and parents Bill and Eileen.

Friends so wishing may make memorial contributions to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan.
