Obituary for Susie Marguerite "Rita" Arbogast (Nichol)

Rita Arbogast was born June 10, 1928 east of LacVert, SK at her Great Aunt’s farm to Gordon and Grace Nichol. She went home to be with her Saviour September 3, 2019. She was the youngest in the family with an older sister Eileen and brother Howard. She grew up on the family farm in the LacVert district and went to school at Service School. During her growing up years she learned to do all the homemaking chores that were necessary on the farm but she also really enjoyed being outside with her Dad.
On Oct 10, 1951 she married Keith Arbogast. They had known each other for many years, attending the same school and their parents were friends. They lived on the Arbogast family farm when they were married and together they raised two children, Douglas and Phyllis. In 1960 Keith and Rita moved to Melfort and Rita worked at the original Parkland for many years. She enjoyed raising her children, her home and many friendships over the years. She also welcomed into her family her daughter-in-law, Rose and son-in-law, Denis Normand. Two of her greatest blessings in life were her grandsons, Jason and Douglas and over the years they enjoyed many special times together. She also enjoyed seeing them get married and welcomed great grandchildren into her life.
After Keith passed away in 2000, she moved from their home into her condo where she lived for many years. Her stay in Parkland Place began in December 2016. Rita leaves a legacy of love and her Christian faith.
She is remembered with love and kindness by her family|; son, Douglas (Rose), daughter Phyllis (Denis Normand); grandson Jason (Leanne) Normand, their children Marcus, Thomas, Felix; grandson Douglas (Melissa) Normand, their children Aubrey, Isla, Emmeline, Rosalie. She is also remembered by nephews, nieces and cousins.
She was predeceased by her husband, Keith, parents Gordon and Grace Nichol, sister Eileen Shanks and her husband Jim and brother, Howard Nichol.

We as family rejoice in knowing that she is safely home with her Saviour and that she rests in peace.
