Obituary for Robert Philip Lumgair

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father, grandfather and great grandfather, Robert Lumgair. Robert passed away at the Royal University Hospital, Saskatoon, SK after a short battle with cancer.

Robert was born on March 10, 1949 in Morden, MB to parents Robert Sr. “RO” and Isabel Lumgair, he was the oldest of three children. In July of 1970, Robert and Shirley (Krivoshein) married and had three children; Keenan, Christina and Patricia.

In November of 1968, Robert joined the Canadian Armed Forces as a Marine Engineering Technician and was honourably released in January of 1971. Upon leaving, he worked as a mechanic and security guard and eventually went into farming in Kinistino, which he spent the last 20 plus years of his life doing.

Robert was a wonderful cook; roasted chicken was his specialty. He was a very giving, caring and compassionate person, always willing to lend a helping hand to whoever or wherever was needed. Generosity was something never lacking with him.

Robert was predeceased by his parents: RO and Isabel Lumgair; wife Shirley Krivoshein; son Keenan Lumgair; niece Meegan Lumgair; nephew Trevor Hunter; companion Audrey Berglund and other family members.

Left behind to cherish his memory are daughters: Christina Lepine (Lumgair) and Patricia Muyers (Lumgair); grandchildren: Celeste and Cassandra Lumgair; Dustin Lepine (Krissy) and Larrisa (Derek) Macfie; Allyssa, Ashlea and Alexandra Muyers; great grandchildren: Sophia Macfie and Alex Lepine; brother Glenn Murray (Alita) and their family; sister Lori (Thomas) Hilderbrand and their family; sister-in-law Joyce (George) Hunter and their son Sheldon and other family members.
