Phylis met Allan MacGillivray when he moved to Silver Park and they got married on January 9th, 1946. They remained on the farm in Silver Park until Allan’s illness in May 1998 when she moved into Diefenbaker Place in Melfort. Phylis resided independently in her suite at Diefenbaker until she passed away in Melfort Union Hospital on April 7th, 2021 at the age of 94.

Phylis worked at the Pearts Bakery, and The Robinson’s Department Store until it closed and then retired.

Together, Phylis and Allan raised four children: Dennis, Gerald, Judy and Connie. Her family was her life. She enjoyed spending time watching her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren play sports and do their various activities. In her younger years, Phylis also loved to play ball and enjoyed curling in bonspiels. One of her favorite places was her garden, surrounded by her flowers. She also enjoyed spending time at the lake and riding on Judy and Gary’s boat. The chuckwagon races were a big part of her life and she looked forward to watching the races in June every year.

Phylis is predeceased by her parents Mary and Sydney, her mother and father-in-law Jessie and Bill, her husband Alan, her brothers Robert and Stub, her sister Marlene, her brothers-in-law Duane Freed and Bud Pavey, and grandson Quinton MacGillivray.
