Olivia Jewel Gustafson (nee Ramstead)
Olivia was born on July 13, 1921 at Viscount, SK to Ole and Jennie Ramstead.
She moved to Archerwill with her parents at the age of 5. She lived there until she married Oscar Gustafson from Naicam, SK on October 27, 1941. They moved to Sherridon,MB where Oscar worked in the mine. Their first 2 children were born in Sherridon. They then moved to Naicam and bought a farm east of town. There they raised all 11 of their children. Oscar and Olivia moved into Naicam on their retirement. In 2003 they moved to a Seniors Residence in Martensville SK where Oscar passed away in February, 2008.
Olivia then moved to Caskey Place in Melfort SK. She stayed there until July 2009 when she moved to Churchview Lodge in Naicam, SK
Olivia passed away peacefully on January 31, 2020 in the Melfort Hospital with family at her side.
She was predeceased by her father, Ole Ramstead and her mother, Jennie Ramstead; 8 brothers – Arvin, Morrell, Kenneth, Lyle, Arnie, Ole (Junior), Harvey, and baby Clarence. Also her granddaughter, Denise (Iverson) Cossette.
She is survived by her 3 sisters, June Jackson of Vancouver, BC; Irene Duesner of Martensville, SK; and Martha Radford of Rocky Mountain House. Her 11 children, Gerald (Annie), Vernon, BC; Muriel (Norby) Iverson, Naicam, SK; Hazel (Larry) Flodell, Denare Beach, SK; Marvin (Janet), Lloydminster, AB; Lawrence (Kim), Stratford, ON; Jenny (Chris) Bunnah, Martensville, SK; Patsy (Mitchell) Gunderson, Blumenort, MB; Roger (Cheryl), Langdon, AB; Ida (John) VanderVeen, Naicam, SK; Mary Gustafson, Edmonton, AB; Sharon Hall, Medicine Hat, AB; 28 grandchildren; 57 great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren.
Olivia will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.
