Obituary for Lloyd Arnold Olson

Lloyd Arnold Olson left this world January 19 at the age of 95. Dad joined his parents; Erland and Emma (Rostvold), brothers; Martin (Hansina), Selmer, Edwin, and sister Myrtle (Dave Reimer, Ed Seykora), son-in-law; Garry Jackson, parents-in-law; Edwin and Augot Erickson, sister-in-law Irene (Leonard) Bowman, brothers-in-law Walter Pearson, Melvin Oberg and Sixten Lindskog, sisters-in-law Jeanette Erickson and Fern Skiftun. A host of nephews, nieces, and friends also welcomed Dad to heaven.

Left to treasure many precious memories are his wife of 67 years Kathleen (Erickson) and their cherished four children: Daughter Connie (Lloyd) Haugerud, their children Brent, Kevin (Lisa) and Amanda; Daughter Trudy Jackson (Tom Carson), her children Chantelle (Trent) Ollivier, Cory (Lori); Son Arnell (Tammie), and children Alicia (Rob) Daigneault, Crystal (Hunter) Harmon, Tyson; Son Randy (& special friends Pam Harrison, Miranda and Matthew Degerness), sisters-in-law Ellen Pearson, Lillian Oberg, Edna Lindskog, and brother-in-law Ken Erickson. Dad also loved and cherished his twenty great grandchildren and five great, great grandchildren.

Dad lived a very full life. He began his working career helping on the family farm as well as working in the lumber mill alongside his brother-in-law Dave Reimer. Later Dad enjoyed working for farmers in the Brockington area, and he finished his working career at Parkland Hospital in Melfort.

Much fun was had when his plentiful family & friends were around with many a card game played around kitchen tables. Dad also enjoyed being the emcee for many weddings in the Brockington area. After moving to Melfort in 1977, Mom & Dad had more time to enjoy life with their family and friends. They took joy in spending many summers camping throughout western Canada and the US. Mom and Dad hosted many holiday meals and remain a shining example of long-time love and shared happiness with all who knew them.

The Funeral service will be celebrated on Saturday, January 23rd at 2:00pm at Fedusiak Funeral Chapel in Melfort. Regretfully, due to current restrictions, the service will be for immediate family only.
