Joseph Theodore Sturby was born May 3, 1958 in Melfort. He passed away in Melfort Hospital on December 27, 2022 at the age of 64 years.

Joe graduated from Melfort High School and played football for the University of Saskatchewan Huskies from 1975 to 1979. In 1980 he received his degree for Bachelor of Science and Physical Education and in 1981 received his Bachelor of Education. He then taught school in Naicam for 13 years.

Joe loved sports including wrestling, basketball, fastball, hockey, track and field, and coaching.

He also loved his cat – 10 O’clock.

Joe was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Nydia Sturby.

He is survived by brothers Myron (Wendy) Sturby, Lionel (Susie) Sturby, nephew Dustin (Heather) Sturby and their children Holden and Jyllisa, nephew Dillon Sturby, and Joe’s special friend Juliet Olivina.

He will be missed by many other family members and friends.
