Obituary for John Lawrence McCoshen

John (Jack) McCoshen was born on August 10, 1933 in Star City, SK to Leonard and Mamie McCoshen. He attended school in Mossdale and Pleasantdale, moving to Outlook College for grades 11 and 12, graduating in 1951. Upon graduation his first job was at Safeway in Melfort. From there he moved to Regina to attend business college.
In 1953 he was employed with SaskPower. In 1956, he met Carol Anderson at a New Years dance in Pleasantdale and they married in 1958.
To this union a daughter Leslie and son Bryan were born.
We moved to the Anderson family farm in 1963, where we lived until 2014. During that time he did custom grain hauling and mixed farming.
In 1975 we bought the store in Lac Vert and closed it in 1990. In 2014 they moved to Melfort. With declining health, Jack moved to Parkland Place in 2016. On January 27, 2021, Jack passed away with his family by his side. Jack’s family was very important to him. His greatest joy were his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Jack is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 63 years Carol; daughter Leslie (Brian) and their children and grandchildren: Craig, Mason, Melanie (Trent), Oakley, Holden, Darcel (Scott), Anlie and Sterling; son Bryan (Brenda) and their children and grandchildren: Charity (Kurt), Graydi, Bryar, Ashley (Shane), John (Kim); sister-in-law Myrl.
He was predeceased by his parents Leonard and Mamie; brothers: Bev, Elmer (Willie), Dale (Bev); father-in-law Carl and sister-in-law Bernice.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.
