Obituary for Jack Holitski

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Jack Holitski who left this world peacefully on October 19th, 2017 at the Melfort Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Jack was born June 21, 1934 in Grayson Saskatchewan, the son of Sigmund and Magdelina (nee Zaleski) Holitski. Jack grew up on a farm near Killaly Saskatchewan; he attended grades one to nine in Killaly and completed his grade 10 at St. Joseph’s College in Yorkton Saskatchewan where he lived in residence.
Jack farmed with his dad until he married Joanne (Schlosser) Holitski on October 17, 1964 in Regina. Jack and Joanne moved to their farm in 1965 where they had four children and remained and farmed for over 40 years. They moved to St. Brieux, Saskatchewan in June 2008.
In his younger years Jack loved to hunt, fish and golf. He enjoyed spending time with his family and was well known for his amazing storytelling.
Jack was predeceased by his son Glen Holitski; parents, Sigmund and Magdelina; his brothers, Billie, Joe, John, and Allan; his sisters, Annie Wiesenberger, Sophie Michalski, Mary Mcleod, Eva Klatt, and Margaret McCarty. He leaves to celebrate his life, his wife, Joanne; his daughters Karen (Glen) Doerksen; grandchildren Cameron (Brittany), Melissa (Michael), Laura Holitski, Donna Ludwar (Bruce Chupa); grandsons Ryan (Jewels), Shane, Noah (Dianna). Jack had numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends that were a very important part of his life.
