Obituary for Fanuel Lima

Our precious Dad, Grandpa, Great Grandpa and Great-Great Grandpa left his life on earth to join the love of his life, Mae for their heavenly 66th Wedding Anniversary.

Fanuel passed away on Thursday, July 28th, 2022 at the home of Mark and Bonnie Fowler in the RM of Moose Range #484 at the age of 93, peacefully at home, surrounded by love.

Fanuel lived in his beloved Weldon for most of his lifetime.  He was an honest hard working man that held an unwavering faith in God. He was willing to help his fellow neighbour at a moment’s notice, generous with his time, and although a man who had many different jobs, he cherished the times when friends and family would stop by for a visit.

Fanuel was born on the Lima family farm just west of Weldon to Fredrek and Jenny Lima, the first of 5 children.  In 1956 Fanuel married Mae Gjesdal and together raised 5 children in the town of Weldon where they lived until moving to the RM of Moose Range #486. Fanuel was a loving husband and father, he taught his children to work hard and take pride in a job well done.

Fanuel was predeceased by his wife Mae Lima, his parents, Fredrek and Jenny Lima, Frieda Friesen (sister), Oscar Lima (brother), Richard Friesen, Henry Silde, Ivan Vekved (brothers-in-law)

Fanuel was exceptionally proud of the legacy he leaves behind: his five children Bonnie Fowler (Mark), Steven Lima (Kathy), Owen Lima, Loren Lima, Karianne Hanak (Bob) as well 8 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren and numerous grand cats and dogs.  He loved each of us unconditionally and for that we will cherish his memory always.

Fanuel is also survived by his sisters: Anna Silde and Astrid Vekved, numerous sister and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Weldon Cemetery Fund
