Dorothy was predeceased by her loving husband of 64 ½ years Harry in 2010. Dorothy was also predeceased by her parents Andrew & Annie Cipywnyk, sisters Mary Feniuk, Nellie Letwyn, Elaine Wingerak and brothers John Cipywnyk, Peter Cipywnyk.

Dorothy was one of eight children born to Andrew and Annie (Niwranski) Cipywnyk that farmed northeast of Melfort, SK. After graduating from Belgrave School, Dorothy became a teacher before marrying Harry Wozniak on July 29th, 1945. They lived on the family farm in the Brooksby area.

Farming was Harry & Dorothy’s way of life and Dorothy embraced the hardships and rewards that came with it. Raising four boys and a girl was a full-time job along with helping to carve a living out of the land feeding cattle and milking cows, raising pigs & chickens, hauling grain during harvest along with tending to a huge garden kept her more than busy. Visitors were always greeted with a warm hug and a huge feast. No one ever left her house with an empty stomach.

Dorothy loved her farmyard and spent endless hours planting trees, lawn, flowers and then keeping it well groomed. She was known for the abundance of flowers that she shared readily with love. Many celebrations enjoyed the colourful blooms from her flower gardens.

Travel became a very important part of Dorothy’s life. Dorothy and Harry were known to visit most of Canada including the Maritimes , Bahamas, Hawaii , Alaska, Continental USA, and Mexico. When it became too difficult to drive or fly, they embraced cruise ships and bus tours. Oh, the stories she would tell of the places they went and the people they met.

Once Dorothy and Harry retired from farming in 1990, they were rarely found at home during the summer months. Their love of fishing led them to camping. They had their favourite campsites and enjoyed the ability to meet new people.

Harry & Dorothy left the farm in 2008 and moved into Diefenbaker Place in Melfort. Dorothy then moved into Parkland place in 2013 and resided there until her passing.

Our thanks to the wonderful loving care Dorothy received from the staff at Parkland Place in Melfort.

Friends so wishing may make memorial contributions to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of St. Peter & St. Paul Preservation Fund. C/O Box 3345, Melfort, SK S0E 1A0.
