Obituary for Diane Marie Svenkeson (Pion)
Diane Marie Svenkeson (Pion) passed away unexpectedly on March 21, 2021 at the age of 71. Diane was born in Saskatoon to Laurent and Germaine Pion on Feb. 15, 1950. She was the 2nd of 6 children.
She enjoyed her career as a schoolteacher in Calgary, Saskatoon, Weldon, Kinistino and Birch Hills. She retired in 1999, which allowed her to enjoy many years of traveling, reading, quilting, summers at the lake, and spending time with family.
She leaves behind her husband Gary of 39 years; son Adam (Cindy) Svenkeson and their children Christina, Morgan, Jeslyn; daughter Tara (Geordie) Nelson and their children Cole, Reese, Griffin, Gavin; mother Germaine Pion; siblings Don (Charlotte) Pion, Denis Pion, Marcel Pion, Lynn (Shelley) Pion, and Terrie (David) Kostur along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and close friends.
An interment service will be planned at a later date.
Memorial donations in lieu of flowers can be made to The Heart and Stroke Foundation.
