The family of Cody James Strass of Piprell Lake, SK is saddened to announce his sudden passing on the 12th of September, 2021, at the age of 35 years.
Cody James will be lovingly remembered by his parents Kenn and Karen, his older brother Justin (Lucy), younger sister Kelsey (Mark) and two nephews Owen and Finley, Grandma Rita, Margaret McDowell, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Cody was predeceased by his grandparents Lloyd James McDowell, Erwin Carl Strass and Alma Lydia Strass.
Cody Strass was born in Regina, Saskatchewan on November 24, 1985. His first two years were spent in the small town of Glentworth, SK. The family then relocated to Watrous, Sk. where he lived and attended school until the age of seven. In 1993 the last family move was to Melfort, Sk. Cody graduated from Melfort Unit Comprehensive Collegiate in 2004 and then attended Plumbing courses at Kelsey Institute in Saskatoon, SK.
He had a great love for the outdoors and particularly the north where he worked at logging in all three western provinces. Cody’s true passion, though, was fishing. He started at four years of age and never stopped fishing or talking about fishing. Eventually Cody would turn that passion into his profession and become a fishing guide in northern Saskatchewan and the North West Territories. His ingenuity and mechanical skills served him well throughout life.
Cody was a sensitive and caring individual and had a deep love of animals and people. No matter his age Cody gravitated to animals and they towards him. He had a large group of friends, old and new, and kept connected with many of them over the years. He was enthusiastic and loved kids of all ages and his interaction with them was special. He always wore a smile on his face and mischief in his eyes! Cody was loved and respected by many.
