Obituary for Beverley Joan Seiffert (Hill)

Beverley Joan Seiffert died peacefully with her daughters by her side at Parkland Place in Melfort on July 23, 2022 at the age of 86. Bev was born in Moose Jaw on September 18, 1935 to John and Jessie (Carr) Hill. Her family relocated to Regina where she graduated from Scott Collegiate. In 1957, Bev completed her training at the Regina Grey Nuns’ Hospital to become an RN. That same year Bev married Edward George Seiffert and moved to the farm southeast of Star City where they resided until 2011 when they moved to Melfort. Bev and Ed’s marriage of 56 years was blessed with three children, daughters Dawn and Kelley and son Darren.
Bev nursed at the St. Therese Hospital in Tisdale for many years before becoming an instructor for the Certified Nursing Assistant program in Melfort through Kelsey Institute. Bev also later worked as an instructor and practicum supervisor for the Special Care/ Home Care Aide program for Cumberland College. Throughout her career and into retirement, Bev was actively involved with a variety of organizations such as Brownies and Girl Guides, SARC and SAMR, Plus Industries, and the Kelsey Trail Health Authority. Retirement afforded Bev more time to pursue her interests, which included volunteering at Plus Stuff Junction, reading, gardening, sewing, and crafting. It also meant more time with family and friends, especially at Greenwater Provincial Park.
Bev is survived by daughters Dawn Hassman and Kelley (Robert) Delorme, her granddaughter Jessica (Aaron) Mayerle, and her great grandson Luca Mayerle. Bev is also survived by her sister-in-law Lillian Hill, and numerous nieces and nephews. Bev was predeceased by her husband Ed, her son Darren, her parents, her brothers Jack and Gary Hill, Jack’s wife Thora, as well as her brother–in-law Ron Seiffert, his wife Maureen and their son Ted.
Bev’s family wish to extend their thanks to her doctors and the staff at Parkland Place for the compassionate care she received.

A Celebration of Life for family and friends will be held at a later date.
