Obituary for Arnold Neil Woolsey

Arnold, a loving husband, father, and papa passed away Wednesday, August 4th, 2021 after a hard fought battle with cancer.

Arnold Neil Woolsey was born May 22, 1955 in Watson, SK. He was the oldest son of Neil and Dorothea Woolsey.

Arnold attended Kew Garden School one quarter mile from his home East of Lac Vert until it closed in 1968. He then attended Pleasantdale Central School.

Arnold left home and joined the work force in 1972. A few years later he met the love of his life Terry Nickeson and they were married November 15, 1975. They lived in Melfort until 1980 when they moved to the hamlet of Lac Vert. In 1999 they purchased their acreage one mile east of Lac Vert where Arnie spent countless hours manicuring the yard and putting up Christmas lights. They welcomed their first son Kristopher Aaron on July 25, 1979; their second son Scott Jeremy on April 15, 1983 and their third and final son, Trevor Neil on April 27, 1987.

Arnold worked at several different jobs but primarily in trucking and agriculture. He was also heavily involved in the local RM as a counsellor and spent many years volunteering with the Lac Vert Community Club, Minor Sports and managing his boys’ sports teams.

Arnold enjoyed attending all his children and grandchildren’s events. He was an avid gardener; loved baking and cooking for his family; enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and spending time at the lake. He cherished time spent with his extended family and was instrumental in gathering them all together for countless reunions and celebrations.

Those left to celebrate Arnie’s life include: his wife of 45 years Terry; their children and their families; Kristopher, Landon and Kyara; Scott (Brandy), Austin and Benjamin; Trevor (Krista), Brooklyn and Ensley.
