Obituary for Alois Sterner

Alois was born May 12, 1936 to Katherine (nee Aschenbrenner) and John Sterner.

On August 18, 1964 he married Lydia Mohinger. They resided on a mixed grain farm near Silver Park.

Alois enjoyed farming, hunting, visiting with his family and friends. He loved his nephews and nieces. Ally had lots of fun events at Eagle Lake and at their farm for the family.

Ally was a kind, fun loving person. He was a joker at heart. If you believed half of what he said, it may have been too much. Ally’s face always lit up when he saw family and friends along with a smile.

His best times were when he toured the country for days, doing odd jobs for his brother George. That was Ally’s passion.

On June 8, 2013 he fell and broke his hip. He was placed into Parkland Nursing Home in Melfort. Thanks to all the staff at Parkland for the care you gave Ally.

Thank you to his brother George and Carol for always being there for him. Bringing ice cream and treats. Also looking after his clothes. His favorite words were “It don’t matter”.

Alois is survived by his brothers: Adolph Sterner, Alfred Sterner, George Sterner, David Sterner; two sisters: Helen Hueser and Anna Marie Teiber as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife Lydia Sterner; parents John and Katherine Sterner; his siblings: Joe (Anne) Sterner, Mary (Ben) Roenspies, Margaret (Gilbert) Albers, Agnes (Ted) Schemenauer, Katie (Jim) Meyers, John Sterner Jr., Mike Sterner; sister-in-law Madelyn Sterner and brothers-in-law: Donald Hueser, Edwin Teiber.

Rest in Peace Ally.

A Graveside service for Alois will be held at a later date.
