Obituary for Adele Beverley Wellar

Adele was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on September 9, 1943 to Fredrick and Jean Wellar. Four years later her brother Bob was born. After a couple of moves, the family resided in Pleasantdale where the family owned the Red & White grocery store.
After graduation, Adele received her teaching degree at the University of Regina. She first taught in Grenfell and Sylvania and finally Burke School in Melfort.
In 1963, she married Floyd Farncombe and to this union two children were born, Tannis and Trent.
In 1975 they purchased the Auto Body Centre (ABC) in Melfort.
Adele was most proud of getting her Realtor’s license and finding the perfect home for her customers. Before retiring she worked for Stats Canada.
Adele’s love of traveling took her to many places. She loved her winter holidays to get away from the cold. Puerto Vallarta was one of her favorite destinations where she made many new friends and margaritas.
Her summers were spent at the lake where she enjoyed golfing and sitting on the hill looking at our view of the lake with a glass of wine and friends. In her younger years we would spend hours on the lake waterskiing, swimming and she loved the boat. We would swim across the lake both ways.
Adele was a ferocious reader but according to her “life is too short to read Gone With The Wind and Moby Dick”. Harry Potter books were one of her favorites, reading them multiple times. She would read every book she could get from the library.
In he later years, she decided to take a water colour paint class. She always said she couldn’t draw a stickman, but her paintings are beautiful.
After a short battle with cancer, Adele passed away on March 3, 2023 and she leaves to mourn her daughter Tannis Farncombe (Carmen Hawreschuk) of Melfort, her son Trent (Penny) Farncombe of Calgary, three granddaughters; Teanna (Darryl Westendorp), Teagan Farncombe, and Adysha King, three great grandchildren; Dawson, Sirena and Sophia Westendorp. Adele also leaves her brother Bob (Shelley) Wellar and many close friends.
Friends so wishing may make memorial contributions to the Melfort Public Library, PO Box 429, Melfort, SK S0E 1A0.

A Private Family service will be held.
